Connect a Snipcart account so your shop can take payments — test first, then live.
If your site has a shop, its products and cart are already built. Taking payments needs a Snipcart account of yours, connected in a few steps. Until then the cart runs in test mode and no money changes hands.
Set up Snipcart
- Create an account at snipcart.com and connect Stripe (or another payment provider) in its dashboard.
- In Snipcart, under Domains & URLs, add your site’s preview address (the one ending in .webfacemedia.dev) and your domain once the site is live.
- Copy your public API key from Snipcart’s API keys page.
Connect it to your site
- Open your website editor (yoursite/admin) and go to Shop Settings.
- Paste the key into Snipcart Public API Key and publish.
- Leave Mode on Test and place an order with a test card to check everything works.
- When you are happy, switch Mode to Live and publish again.
Before you sell
- Set your shipping rates and taxes in Snipcart.
- Prices on the site are in Canadian dollars.
- Products are created without photos — add one to each product in the website editor.
